Upcoming Live Trainings and Events
Partners and Carolina Complete Health will host office hours for Partners Tailored Plan physical health providers. We will use the time to share pertinent updates related to the topics and specialty areas below as well as hear from you and answer any questions you may have.
Office Hours sessions will be held every three weeks on Tuesdays at 12PM. Please register for the sessions that you would like to attend. If you would like to register for more than one session, you must register separately.
- 9/10: Personal Care Services focus. Intended audience: Any provider billing for PCS, including adult care homes and in-home PCS. View slides (PDF) and recording.

The goal for office hours is to:
- Share EVV program updates
- Review provider education and supports available
- Schedule 1:1 in-service time for your office

Payspan hosts monthly provider training sessions. Webinar Wednesday sessions are open to any provider and payer representative who would like to learn more about the provider experience on the payspanhealth.com portals.

Carolina Complete Health offers trainings for both behavioral health and physical health providers in our network at no cost. Our team provides mostly clinical, provider-focused education on topics that are geared towards improving member outcomes. The majority of our clinical trainings also offer behavioral health continuing education units also at no cost to the attendee. Trainings are completed via live/virtual instructor led webinars.
How to sign up for trainings:

Partners Health Management (Partners) and Carolina Complete Health Network (CCHN) hosted a physical health provider training to hear more about working with Tailored Plan members, as well as important changes for providers once Tailored Plans launch.
Neva Bartholomew, MD, MPH, Partners' Deputy Chief Medical Director for Physical Health shared information on the following topic areas:
- What is an LME/MCO and current services offered?
- Tailored Plan coverage map and what will happen when Tailored Plans launch
- Medicaid members that will be enrolled into Tailored Plan vs. remain in Medicaid Direct

Onboarding/Annual Trainings
NC DHHS established provider training criteria for the Tailored Plan, which must be made available for Tailored Plan Providers. Recognizing the importance of reducing the administrative burden, the following reciprocity agreement has been developed between Carolina Complete Health and our Tailored Plan partners; Trillium Health Resources and Partners Behavioral Health Management.
This training reciprocity agreement is inclusive of the following identified trainings enveloped within CCH New Provider Orientation:
- Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT)
- Into the Mouths of Babes (IMB)
- Population Health (titles vary)
- Infection Prevention and Control
- Cultural Competency
Providing a cohesive approach to meet the NC DHHS criteria and ensure Providers are not burdened by duplicative trainings, this agreement will allow Providers to receive completion credit for the above trainings with either of Carolina Complete Health’s Tailored Plan partners.

The Prepaid Health Plans, in collaboration with NC AHEC, streamlined the Cultural Competency training requirement for Providers. As a result, please view the following training that was created by the Department of Health and Human Services and endorsed by each PHP. You only need to view it once to meet the training requirement for each plan you are contracted with. Once complete, please kindly attest to your training by filling out this brief survey

NC AHEC is developing a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion curriculum
Medicaid offers its covered children and youth under age 21 a comprehensive benefit for preventive health and medical treatment. Carolina Complete Health adheres to and offers or arranges for the full scope of preventive and treatment services available within the federal EPSDT benefit. Preventive (wellness) services are offered without copays or other charges, per the periodic schedule established by the state of North Carolina. Early Periodic Screening services include physical exams, up to date health histories, developmental, behavioral and risk screens, vision, hearing and dental health screens and all vaccines recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.

PHPs, in collaboration with the State and each of the 8 tribes in North Carolina, developed a streamlined Provider Tribal Training. This is intended to provide information and to assist providers with cultural awareness and sensitivity when serving Native American tribal members. This training represents an updated map of tribal coverage in NC, as well as feedback from the aforementioned groups.

Behavioral Health Clinical Trainings

This provider training, held on July 27th, provides an overview of Behavioral Health Integration. We also spend time reviewing three evidence-based models of Integrated Care frequently used in Primary Care.
This training reviews information about utilization management criteria for Behavioral Health services with a special focus on Peer Support Services and Outpatient Behavioral health.

Webinar objectives:
- Review provider quality initiatives and incentives for the Controlling High Blood Pressure (CBP) measure
- Provide information on the Blood Pressure Self Monitoring Program (BPSM)
- Share referral methods for BPSM.
The four-month YMCA BPSM program offers personal support for members to build skills that help them manage high blood pressure, notice and control triggers that raise blood pressure, and eat healthier. The program is available at no cost to Carolina Complete Health members age 18 years or older who have been diagnosed with high blood pressure. Participants cannot have had a recent cardiac event, have atrial fibrillation or other arrhythmias, or be at risk for lymphedema.

In the YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program, a trained Lifestyle Coach will introduce topics in a supportive, small group environment and encourage participants as they explore how healthy eating, physical activity and behavior changes can help reduce their risk for diabetes and benefit their overall health. The Diabetes Prevention Program is a recognized program by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is available at no cost to qualifying Carolina Complete Health members.

Provider System User Training will be provided via the HHAeXchange Learning Management System (LMS). Providers will have to log on the Learning Management System to complete their training to understand the use of the HHAeXchange Provider Portal along with its functionalities. View a recording training with the HHAeXchange team for a discussion on the recent Home Health implementation for the North Carolina PHPs.
